Quake Up!

Happy New Year, dear neighbors!

What would you say if I told you that you can learn to be calm, cool and level-headed in the middle of an emergency or disaster situation? This month, you have the opportunity to do that: to learn about situational awareness and increase your safety at all times.

Cedar Hills Ready! Team is offering two ways for you to improve your safety:

Take Action > Attend our training on Jan 20 at 7 PM
Situational awareness is the ability to understand what is happening around you, while thinking ahead to prevent potential safety incidents. It's an essential skill for surviving disasters. Our speaker, Scott Mize, is an outdoor enthusiast, a CERT leader, and holds multiple certifications in first aid and wilderness survival. He owns NW Survival LLC and provides training on many safety topics. Join us, learn something new, and share your thoughts.

Take Action > Create a neighborhood hazards map
Create a hazard map to better understand the potential hazards in our neighborhood, such as vulnerabilities to earthquakes, landslides, and flooding. It's an easy, fun activity that takes about an hour and a walk in the neighborhood. We provide easy step-by-step instructions.

Take Action > Learn more and get involved
We are organizing a Quake Up! on Saturday, April 18th -- an educational event to help all of our neighbors get prepared together. Save the date, get involved, and share our event fliers!
